    Hi Aditya!
Profile evaluation would be a good thing to start with....

    GRE : 1510 (Quant 790)
    CFA (AIMR) level 2 cleared.
BE Computer Science (61% - First class)
Work ex :- 18 months Test engineer at a reputed IT firm(not related to finance).

Can i get a decent university (top 20) for the MFE course??

    Thanks in advance.

    Hi Aditya

Hope you are doing well. I am new to this community. I am planning to go in for my Masters in Financial Engineering in 2010.

To give you a little background about me. I am an Electronics and Telecommunications Engineer from Jamia Millia Islamia University, India. After this I pursued my MBA with Finance Majors from Symbiosis University, India. I then worked for two years at Morgan Stanley in the investment banking division. Hence I have a background that has finance, mathematics and programming too. I shall be taking my GRE in August and I am eyeing a score of 1400+

I am eyeing only the top ten universities in USA and preferable only at NY and Chicago. It would be great if you can tell me my chances of cracking any of the good universities. And in case you think otherwise, can you tell me how to improve my application like by additional certification exams etc.?

    Thanks in advance.

    Regards

    Hi Aditya,

I’m interested in financial engineering field.
I’ve done masters in mechanical engineering from VJTI Mumbai. I’ve 5 yrs of experience in software development and testing in a reputed engineering software development company. Also, I’ve worked on Monte-Carlo simulation (C programming) for BARC as part of my masters’ project. BARC has published a paper based on my work and I’m a co-author of that.

I want to know my chances of getting admit for Financial engineering in a reputed Univ.

Which Univ shall I try in?
    Waiting for your reply.

    thanks

    Hi Aditya,
I am a student from IIT Bombay, currently in my 3rd year pursuing B.tech in Aerospace Eng.
My CPI is too low 6.03/10, i have done 5 related maths core courses, got an 8 in two of those then after my grades fell down drastically and i got an 6,5,4 in the remaining 3 courses. I am pretty confident of scoring 1400+ in GRE but fear i cant still cover my low grades. I have done infinite activities during my last 3 yrs from being a student leader to having a start up. But still seeing other profiles i think i stand no where. What would be right for me to do? should i try to apply just after graduation or should i work in a relevant company to gain some experience and hide my grades further
