  1. how to call a function in access from matlab

I do this from not matlab but windows scheduler in a bat script, what you are missing is that the Run command is only going to run "macros" not vba subroutines. Go into the access database and create a macro which calls the vba subroutine and then it should work.
  2. retaking classes

Thank you all, your comments are greatly appreciated. Yes time is very much my biggest constraint as I am working full time.
  3. retaking classes

So I am going back to school part time while working to get the prerequisits, and I am finding I am not doing so well in the in my calc2 class. Not for lack of understanding the material, which I didn't find to be difficult, but for example I didn't finish the test and got poor grades and...
  4. MIT expands online courses, offering Certificates

As someone who is trying to pick up coursework (Just finished calc2 yay!) as I can with work this is really exciting to me. My question is will these certificates be taken seriously, or even comparable to actual inclass work? Will they differentiate in grading?
  5. Occupy Wall St.

Everyone talks about deregulation, that's not the problem. You wouldn't need stacks of regulations to make sure wall street did the "right thing" if you didn't have all the implicit guarantees that the government provides. And if you didn't have all the regulation, smaller outfits could afford...
  6. House Harkonnen - the Dune discussion

Paul wasn't the true kwisatz haderach, you have to remember that he was one generation too soon, Leto II was the "true" kwisatz haderach, and his abilities far outstripped Pauls. Leto's prescience was much more clear.
  7. Occupy Wall St.

Instead of holding up signs about what they don't like (capitalism, banks, ...money), I'd like to signs for what they support ... I mean why don't they just hold up signs that are blatantly honest like "I want rich people to pay for my free stuff" or "health care is a right (paid for by you)"...
  8. Earthquake

I am in WTC7, and as you might imagine, people's first instinct wasn't an earthquake. We definitely felt it, the building started clearing out immediately, they botched it and didn't even sound the alarm.
  9. Baruch Math Degree CS Minor Question

Thank you all very much, this was very informative. Being taught the maths from the MFE faculty is a big plus.
  10. Baruch Math Degree CS Minor Question

Hello, So I have been on a silent quest to relearn math from the ground up. Been studying the proofs behind all the basics from trig/logarithms up through single variable calculus in an effort to go back and get a 2nd degree in math at Baruch (accepted for the fall). I may not finish the...
  11. CFA Level I

Perhaps "weighted" more heavily is a bad choice in words. If you are on the margins of your score, they will sometimes use your ethics score to put you over the edge (or throw you overboard). I have read this many times, but by all means check out the analystforum and do the research separately...
  12. CFA Level I

Also note that the ethics section is weighted more heavily per question than the rest of the sections.
  13. GRE Averaging or "best of"

Thank you all for your feedback! You all make good points. Thanks Andy for being honest so I can keep my expectations aligned with my performance.
  14. GRE Averaging or "best of"

Hello, I have been working on GRE practice sets and my average score is around 89% so far, missing only the most difficult/hard to understand questions. I am not sure how this will translate to the GRE CAT but I want to take it to find out. But I don't want to take it yet if many of the good...
  15. GMAT or GRE for the MFE ?

I wanted to do a program because I mean look at the top programs and the average scores, it seems all the programs are around the 95 Percentile range, I mean I feel like I am a smart kid and all but, I have to assume that all these GRE and GMAT candidates are college grads and the people getting...
