Dominic, you have been contributing a lot of information and analysis to this Chicago/Singapore topic -- thanks a lot .
I believe you defnitely have placed quite a number of CMU MSCF graduates from their NYC Campus. Could you please comment a little bit on the teaching quality , industry...
Thanks for your words, Tigga.
Actually my initial question is regardng the possibility of moving from HK/SG to US/UK after years' experience. However, most replies don't address this concern of mine at all and the discussion went to quality of teaching and repution of the program. I am pretty...
If it meant opportunity cost, $150K is fair enough.
It's indeed true that running between two states are easier than cross Pacific. However, according to Chicago's plan, the Singapore program is positioned differently from Stamford program and will cost much more resource. Therefore, the...
Dominic: I am afraid that your information about Chicago/Singapore program is far from being correct -- the tuition fee is $40k and living cost should be much less than $20k no matter you study in Chicago or Singapore. How do you come up with the cost of $ 150K ??
I must also point out that...
I am in Singapore.
Of course I don't have comprehensive placement data for all the program I listed - I heard that in good years the placement has been excellent ( 95% at least , i guess, 3 months after graduation ) while data this year is still unclear. I am don't have 100% confidence on...
well , my criteria is simply excellent school brand + quality research/teaching in quant finance + impressive placement figures . sound fair, isn't it ?
Different opinions are always there. Some people think Waterloo's FE program is among top3 in North America. good for them!
(for US MFE programs only ):
Princeton Stanford Berkeley Chicago Columbia CMU NYU
Maybe you can also add Michigan and Cornell. That's all.
I believe most people would agree.
Why did you ask ?
The truth is that top MFE programs especially Princeton & Stanford are quite difficult to get in.
The above statement is probably more suitable for certificate programs like CQF , FRM or CFA.
thanks Domini,
I would appreciate if you can share more information if your lawer say it's okay.
insde information associated with "refund / horrendous" can't be more critical.
I am admitted by U of Chicago MSFM at Singapore (Singapore Program) and now I am considering whether I should attend it. I decided to go for MFE late (this March) so I missed the deadlines of most US/UK programs for Fall 2008 intake. This Chicago program at Singapore is the only one I managed to...
Hi,
I saw your post last year regarding MFE in Singapore. Are you planning to attend any school this coming Aug / Sep?
I am working in Singpaore and will also do a MFE program locally. I am also a career changer from engineering. If you would you we can share information and keep in touch...
I guess some pals here are from Asian so I would like ask about admission to the MFE program in Nanyang Technological University (NTU) in Singapore. NTU offers both full time and part time programs and I'm applying to the full time path.
My profile: I have beene/ working in Singapore as an...
