I think if you wanted to get a degree to bolster your application, it would be some sort of Masters in Math. Shorter time commitment, more rigorous courses. You might need to study up a bit beforehand.

Good for whoever these people are. If they get into programs that are ranked 5-10, they should go to whichever school they like the best. Not just the one that is ranked 1 spot ahead of another (in rankings that likely have no basis to real life results anyway).

Honestly, I don't see why you would need another degree. Study for the CFA, keep your current job while you do.

I agree and I definitely think that having some sort of degree or qualifications in Statistics is going to be the next big trend.

I think this is a very important question, for any career. For quantitative finance, I fear that political legislation may be the biggest hurdle.
