well, i guess you will have a hard time to choose. ic has math finance while columbia has mfe. so in terms of internal competitions, it would be equivalent. both programs are quite big and have pretty good brand name~

@Andy Nguyen, I guess u already got the answers. as far as i know, the main reasons ppl i know applying for these programs are: 1. already having jobs in Singpore, seeking for part-time program 2. low cost, a LOT LOT cheaper than US/UK programs --- I personally think this is the key factor 3...

@yjt you get admitted as well ? which campus are u in ? so you would prefer NYC ? it seems to me that Pitts campus has pretty good placement rate, i'm not sure if NYC is better. I'm pretty curious if there is any stats available comparing these two campuses :cool:.

@roni, sorry, what do you mean by "7 courses" ? (or you mean "5/7 of the courses" ?) I guess CMU offers more than 7 courses throughout 1.5 years if i'm not wrong. I heard from one Cornell current student that not all FE students can successfully secure internship. I'm not sure if that is true...

Can you also ask them how they (MSOR) select students from the huge pool of applications for MSFE program? Why some students got rejections directly while some could get the admission to MSOR? Which kind of background do they prefer ? Engineering or biz ?

Hey, I also wish to hear some information about MAFN. I know some students who just graduated from Oxford MCF, 90% of them found pretty good jobs till now.(like quant or trader positions in world famous banks) So I believe Oxford could be a good choice. (not sure about LSE)
