(Preface: In the past of couple of months my efforts to break into a quant role in US has constantly hit the H1B wall (a total of 4 interviewed opportunities, plus a couple of tens of no-response initiatives which can not be determined was due to H1B or my credentials). To have a realistic view of the probability of landing a job despite visa burdens in 2011, I thought to start this thread. Hopefully, it is also useful for other quant candidates in a similar/related situation to me.)

Would individuals who needed H1B sponsorship AND succeed to secure a quant job in 2010 care to provide a quick feedback here?

1-Was the position in investment banking or investment/asset management?
2- Was the firm a BB or a boutique?
3- What was the position classification? quant developer, analyst, strategist, trader etc.
4- If possible, also location of the job.

Cheers.

PS: If such information are available to more senior members of QuantNet who can share it, it is greatly appreciated.
