Cornell FE 2012 Cornell Admissions Thread

I just got in :)
I didn't interview either. I'm not a Cornell undergrad.

The tracker suggests that last year the majority of admitted students where not interviewed. Only a small part were.
So I would assume that thous interviewed are applicants where they are perhaps unsure of their technical ability, English skills or just some other part of the requirements.

Yes, you are right. Thank you!

I did not have an interview, although I had met with Drs. Caggiano and Averbukh in the fall to discuss the program. And no, I am not a Cornell undergrad. In fact, I am a Canadian student from the University of Western Ontario.

do u guys think Cornell completed first round of selection.. and released results for either ad or wl?....then the rest, like me, should expect another rej to be arrive early-mid April!!?

According to the tracker, last year the invites came in 4-5 periods and I would assume that this was the first of thous. So just be patient, there is still hope.

I have got WL from Kathryn this Thursday. Anyone has any idea what should I do now? Waiting is like torturing...

Hi, is there any one from Mainland of China? I study at Tsinghua University and have not received any information for Cornell yet. I wonder whether the applications from Chinese students have been reviewed or not...

Any of you who received an invite or were wait listed that applied for the Knights Scholarship?

FYI (reply from Kathy)

Dear Applicant,
We do admissions continuously from now through April. As we have over 1,000 applications, it will take some time to process admissions, and these are not done all at one time, but continuously. I’m sorry but I do not have any further information at this time. You will be notified as soon as a decision has been made on your file (either way).

You might wish to tell your “forums” this as well, as we have had many similar requests such as yours.

Thanks, Kathy

Looks like Adcoms keep an eye on quantnet.

What I was wondering was whether they might be delaying to answer thous that are being considered for the scholarship while they reach a decision.
