Hi there! First and foremost thank you to the founders of this community and all the members for putting out great content.

About me: Recent grad of Computer Science and Math in Europe. Entering a Masters in Applied Mathematics.

Some software engineers at buldge bracket banks have told me to avoid those roles and have explicitly told me to round off my education with some statistics and/or machine learning to open up myself to a larger array of jobs/career possibilities. Here are the two courses I'm targeting for after I finish my Masters in Applied Math:

Imperial College London - MSc Statistics
UCL - MSc Computational Statistics and Machine Learning

I was wondering about your thoughts and mainly your personal experiences applying to jobs outside of pure quantitative finance? I have the ability to move the U.S - I was wondering which firms would recruit people with this blend of Maths, Computing and Statistics.

I've looked at a few data scientist roles and there seem to be a number of banks and international organisations who want Quantitative analysts but all of these roles seem fairly vague.

Thanks for the advice ! S.T.W
