I was wondering if anyone here has a CFA and how it's helped your career. I'm looking to take the test and what not, but I want to see if it's worth it.

I think that this would be a good way to round me out. Any help would be appreciated.

Hi Sunpyohong-

I got my charter about 4 years ago. It helped me primarily in 2 ways: First, it helped hone my analytical skills and gave me the investment knowledge which I can apply on my job; Second, it enhanced my credentials. Coming from mutual fund back-office without strong academic record, getting interviews for analytical job in the investment management field was challenging. After I passed level 2 I started getting some decent interviews.

I think it's worth it if you are interested in a career in investment management, or if you're already in the field but don't want to spend the money on a 2nd-tier MBA. Hope this helps.
