The Baruch MFE team won the 2017 Rotman International Trading Competition (RITC) that took place at University of Toronto, January 24-25, 2017, and included 52 academic institutions from five continents.

This is the second Baruch MFE win in a row after the record-breaking win from 2016, and the third win all-time, after winning RITC 2012, and fits into the consistently stellar performance of our students over the years: 1st in 2017, 1st in 2016, 4th in 2014, 3rd in 2013, 1st and 4th in 2012, 3rd in 2011 (did not participate in 2015).

The Baruch MFE team won Algo Trading, took second place in ETF trading, third place in commodities trading, fifth in vol trading and sixth in credit risk and open outcry. It is the first time in the history of 14 years of the competition when a team scores no lower than 6th in all events.

Congratulations to our winners, Bell Chen, Hongshan Chu, Qinkai (David) Mao, Dmitriy Treyger, Zhaoyue (Robert) Wei, and Gongshun (Gordon) Yin!

A record number of teams participated this year, including US-based MFE/Math Finance programs from Carnegie Mellon, NYU Tandon, Fordham, UChicago, Columbia, Rutgers, and UMinnesota, among others.
