Columbia MSFE Columbia Masters in Financial Economics

Financial Economics Program by Columbia Business School
It seems that the interview slots are much greater than 50.:censored:

Will the interview conducted by the program's current students or alumni?

I asked them and they said that they ended up having about 60 or so interviews given out from a pool of 630 applicants, so about ~9.5% of the pool got an interview; last year about 50 applicants were accepted

Thanks so much for the info. Do you by any chance know the stats for previous years? There's a chance that they will admit much fewer candidates to keep their small cohort if many of the 2020 class deferred due to COVID. (Worst case scenario, hopefully I'm just overthinking) Otherwise, the interview-admission rate seems too good to be true. If in previous years they also sent 60 invites and admitted 50, then we are pretty damn lucky.

Is anyone planning on taking the interview this weekend? Without getting into any details on the questions, would be nice to know high level what to expect (i.e. is it a mixture of behavioral/technical vs purely behavioral vs purely technical vs resume based etc.)

It is more like a conversation for them to learn more about you and for you to learn more about them. Nothing technical for me. A pleasant conversation. Have a pretty strong feeling it is a good fit for me. Good luck to everyone :).

Would you mind sharing who did you talk to? Alumni? Admission Committee? Professors?

One Phd student and the program director. I was supposed to chat with the alumni only but the director decided to join earlier this morning.

I got the email said “I will meet with members of admission committee”.So, does it mean I will talk with more than one person? like with one alumni and one committee?
