Do the top US MFE's take non-iitian, Bsc.stat majors from India?

And, can a MFE with stat undergrad, give a good chance of entering the quant industry?

What are other job prospects after a MFE(possibly data science?), as from what I know getting into quant finance is very difficult.

If you are a commerce student you should forget about proper quant job! There is NOTHING that your commerce college has taught you that you will use in quant job. No good quant masters program will consider you!. Do stats from some good college and then you might get chance for consideration! Or just go for MBA/CA like all commerce persons

Can you please elaborate why MFE programs even care that I took commerce, since maths is same for pcm and commerce till class 12

Most of the profiles I have seen are mostly engineering graduates to be frank. IIT/BITS/NIT students mostly. Though more reputed degrees lfrom IISc, CMI or ISI (they have a quant economics program ig?) should also be able to make the cut I think. Their undergrad programmes are rigourous as well.
