Hello, I am Harsh. I am an Indian resident currently enrolled in the final year of an undergraduate program in Computer Science and Engineering.

At this point in time, I have completed an algorithmic trading based internship at a Proprietary Trading Firm. I believe that I can land another finance based internship next year, following which I have a full time job offer from Societe Generale as a software developer.

I am contemplating putting off applying to a Financial Engineering program for a year in order to strengthen my profile as well as save up some cash to apply to numerous schools.

My source of worry is that although I am joining a financial institution for full-time work, my role will be primarily tech dominated. Would this negatively impact my application at target schools?

PS:
1) I do aim to complete another Finance based internship before I apply.
2) Looking for advice pertaining to US schools.
