Hi,

I'm interested in getting into one of the better MFE programs, but at the moment my credentials are not that great. I graduated with a BA in Economics with math minor and I was wondering what might help my chances and better prepare me for an MFE program. I was thinking either:

1) going back to school and getting a BA in math and taking some CS electives. I found that Baruch offers a program that is concentrated on financial math, and will be around 39 credits to finish.

2) possibly a masters in finance or economics

3) something I haven't thought of yet, maybe someone has a suggestion?

:sos:

Why do you think that your credentials are not that great? Can you provide more details?

Why do you want MFE?

Getting second bachelor degree doesn't make any sense. I don't think it's a good option no matter of what.

I have only a 3.426 gpa and 750quant 530verbal on the GREs with not alot of work experience.

I'm interested in MFE because I really like programming, math, and finance, and it combines all of those.

I'm not sure what I can do besides retaking math classes and trying to get As and retaking the GREs.

750 Math GRE is very low. Questions are not that hard, so you can do better than that.

If you can show in your application how you are interested in Math, Programming and Finance with real life examples it will overcome your GPA.
