I know I am supposed to flatter them with a stated commitment that "yes, you are my top choice, I will definitely take up your offer if given a chance." But how to make it convincing? Personally I feel its class size is not so advantageous to begin with, and the inclusion of Operation Research students, who are pursuing a de facto Financial Engineering degree, further dilutes resources. Any spin-doctor advice is appreciated.

On a relaed note, do any people think the 3rd place on Quantnet ranking is over-rating Columbia?

you're forgetting the math finance program, as well. i recently looked through a stack of resumes and all three programs were represented and their students were competing for the same job.

holding my tongue here :)
