I had an interview yesterday with an IB and was wondering what are some of the social norms and expectations post-interview. I have the emails of all of the people I talked with and am thinking of sending an email thanking them for their time. Also, I'll add something specific on a topic we discussed so as to not come off as generic or robotic.

So my question is: Is sending a follow up email a good idea, and if so how long should I wait to send it? Thanks.

Might as well, should be sent within 24 hours.

Although it's very unlikely to make a difference in their decision, either they want to proceed or they don't, a thank you note isn't likely to tip the balances either way.
