Hi Guys,

Let me explain my stituation. I travel 2 hours each way by car + train, to work. So do not have time to spend on course work during the week. Hence this request for survey from current and past students of the c++ course.

a) How much time (hours) did you devote per day towards studying ?

b) How long (weeks) did you take to complete the course work ?

c) Were you satisfied with the time you devoted for the course and knowledge gained ?
+ Please answer -> 1 - low satisfaction
5 - high satisfaction

The intention of this survey is to help me, figure out if I need to take time off to do the course OR do it while working.

Your inputs would be invaluable to help me decide on a schedule to do the course.

It really depends...
Your background, your interest and something like that.

For me
a) About 4-5 hours per day
b) About 40+ days when I actually studied this course
c) Its a very subjective number. For me, I give 5. After completing this course, you can learn deeper in C++ by yourself and you have all you need to learn by yourself. For me, I am currently reading a book about boost library which is a very important tool for us in the future career. And it's easy for me to read this book after completing a level in this course which is specifically talking about this topic.

Hope this helps.;);)

a) Less than 2 hours per day (on average). When I took the course I was very busy with other work so didn't get a chance to study the material most days. My way of doing the course was just to devote a full weekend day to the course every week or 2.

b) I took the full 16 weeks to complete the course

c) 5 - I was very satisfied! Coming into the course I had no knowledge of C/C++ but by the end, I had a solid understanding of how to program in C++. For the amount of time I devoted to this course, I really felt I learned a lot. There are a lot of topics covered in the course, however the exercises really help you to understand the concepts being introduced in each level and will give you a very thorough understanding of what you are doing.

From my personal experience, it was certainly possible to do this course with other full time commitments. I would say that as long as you can devote a decent block of time to the course each weekend and maybe watch the lectures on your commute, then you should be fine.
