Dear Professor,
I'm going back to Baruch as a MBA in Finance this Fall flex time.
It is just today I found there is such a MFE. I am thinking of transferring to MFE.
I've checked Baruch web site but couldn't find it under Academic tab? Can you please advise?
I had MS in Computer Science at Baruch. I'm a computer programmer for a financial firm for years.
Thanks for your attention.
Jan

Hi Jan,
I'll answer you instead of Prof. Stefanica if that's ok with both of you ;)
First, you can't transfer from the MBA to the MFE program. You will have to apply directly. The admission for Fall 2007 has concluded so you will have to apply for Fall 2008. The deadline is April 30/08. I'm aware that the admission to the MFE program is highly competitive, much more than that of the MBA program.
On the Baruch website, you can find it under Academics -> Graduate Programs and Courses -> Master of Science -> Applied Mathematics for Finance
Apparently, they haven't changed the old name to Master of Financial Engineering yet. Applied Math for Finance was the old name of the program. Anyone knows who is the webmaster for the Baruch website, please send them an email.

The program website is http://mfe.baruch.cuny.edu/

Here is some more info that you may find useful (I posted this on another thread)
Open house: usually monthly. There is one next month Weissman School of Arts and Sciences Events Page
Online chat: they have monthly online chat with Prof. Stefanica - Director of the program.
Mailing list: No such feature on the current website but hopefully they will add that in future website. Email/call them if you think it's useful

hi Jan,

you have the benefits of being in proximity to our program, as matter fact, in the same building :)
My only advise is to hang around our program and students as much as possible! and especially set up an appointment to meet with our director Professor Stefanica ASAP ;)

thanks, Andy.
I'll definitely check the info and take the courses as close as possible to the MFE program.
I'll see what I can do.
Really appreciate it.
Jan

Thanks a lot, John.

Pity that it was just yesterday I found there is such a program on a web site.
Thank you again.
