Hi, I applied for the UCB MFE program and received the technical interview a few day ago. I think my interview was a good conversation and I just got a checklist of Pre-courses on the portal. However, I was also told I was being held for further consideration. This is the program that I think can help me, so I will try my best to finish the checklist.

However, since I am in a hold status, is there still possibility that I will get an admission decision? Or is there anyone who is in the same situation as I am?

Thanks!!!

By the way, I finished some Coursera courses before but I did not post them in my application, can I post them now?

Hey, I just had a similar experience... I had a good round of interview and all of a sudden a hold status with a huge list yesterday... I think the chances of conversion from hold status to admit status are pretty slim... Most of the suggested courses are pretty expensive and there is no guarantee of an admit after that....

I would suggest you to do those pre-requisite courses which will help you in your career

Have to say you are right… Never seen a case like us who will be given admission in the end… In this forum I saw a case where the applicant was held but given a interview afterwards… He was admitted though.

You are right on the course part… very expensive… good on my career but I have taken some of them(but they don’t approve it).

This is unrelated to your query but I was considering the possibility of applying to UCB. Can you please tell me a bit about your profile so that I can evaluate myself based on that?

Hey, I have also been on the hold list since June 4 after an interview for round2. However, they offered me a second interview after that. All I did is finishing some items on the preparation list. I hope it's still possible for us to get an admission. You could finish some items that don't cost you much money or time and wait for feedback from the admission committee (probably a second interview).

And could you help me find the post of the guy who was held but then got admitted? Thanks!

Coursera is currently giving free access to their courses if you're a university students having a education email so I guess you can give it a shot
