andy, good color on this one too. thx. but i missed where the rumor started....i think columbia should better leverage its assets - location, brand name, professors by combining the mafn, mfe and msor programs. streamline the curriculum & increase ties to the b-school and (of course) wall...
andy, thx for the color. last time i was in school i used a fujitsu lifebook s and loved it. it was durable and lightweight. i also had a handspring treo (ok i am dating myself) for the great keyboard (at that time).
i am about to start an MFE program in Sept and welcome any suggestions regarding technology setup. i have been in need of a tech upgrade at home and am using the excuse of starting school.

I got accepted this week (PT) to both schools. turnaround time was about 2 months for both.
for full disclosure, i applied to these NY programs because 1-i need to remain in NYC, 2-i need to enroll PT, 3-both schools/programs gave me a gre/gmat waiver...and of course that's why i didnt apply...
Columbia MAFIN
I applied to the MAFN program for two reaons: 1- offered PT program whereas other Columbia programs didnt. 2-was given waiver for gre/gmat.
I got accepted this week (PT). turnaround time was about 2 months.
Also was accepted to NYU Poly MS FE (PT). not sure which to choose...
