Hi Milena,
I was glad to see your post--I'm currently in a similar position that you were in, and wonder if I can get some advice. I had a phd in math and spent a few years being a post doc, but had to relocate to be with my husband after I got pregnant, and then took off several months to be with the baby. But now it seems I can't find a full-time teaching position in Boston (most schools aren't hiring), so I am thinking of a career change to get into the financial world--not that I really want very high pay, but I don't know what other big industry area would use mathematicians(I do theoretical math). I wonder how you managed it--I read your brief description in a post about being proactive in job searching, but hope to get more advice: how you prepared on the knowledge, how you found the first job, how you find your current job, etc.
Thanks a lot for your response!
