Undergrad physics major, data science and math minors, research in plasma confinement and quantum computing (nothing crazy though), UGPA 3.67. Took one graduate course at Stanford and got an A so 4.0 GGPA. Multiple years full-time work experience in consulting, no quant internships, two traditional finance internships. Got rejected from every other top ranked school, was deciding between lower ranked admits and just went for it on Columbia. Interviewed with 1hr notice (pro tip: check your email's spam. Interview invites come from the program director's @columbia.edu address and mine was filtered into spam.) Wonderful interview, wonderful director, he makes decisions quickly after interviewing candidates so I got accepted 3 days later. Immensely excited and grateful!
