Cannot recommend this program enough. After having been briefly exposed to other programs, the sponsored research projects sets Lehigh apart from even the top programs in these rankings. The career placement is very good, especially if you show yourself to be driven and willing to put lots of work in.

I’m currently a student in the Lehigh MFE program, and my overall experience has been positive, especially in terms of academics and faculty support. The curriculum goes deep into probability, stochastic processes, optimization, risk modeling, and financial mathematics.
The professors are the biggest strength here: extremely supportive, accessible, and genuinely invested in student success.

Project forward curriculum
Graduation Class
2026
The coursework and professors are as good as you will get at any other university. What really sets Lehigh apart is the project work that students take on. Students take on 2-4 projects, which are sponsored by companies like Point72 and Hamilton Lane, that give them practical experience to add to their resume, discuss with professionals, use in interviews, and develop as quants. The program is growing to include more sponsors and opportunities year over year. The Lehigh alumni community is well established and the MFE network is growing every year to boost future classes.

Lehigh’s MFE Program Helps Me Grow
Graduation Class
2026
The Master’s in Financial Engineering program at Lehigh is a strong, well-designed program that prepares students for a career in quantitative finance. The courses are flexible and focus on cs, statistics and finance.
This program will provide students capstone projects to work on quant related, hands-on project. Students get to work directly with industry sponsors, making the experience feel real and relevant.
Networking is also a major part of the program. There are plenty of events, guest talks, career panels, and conference that make it easy to meet alumni and professionals. These activities are especially important for me. They give me a chance to practice communication, build confidence, and improve my social skills.

As with any program there are dipshits, but I think the time our program director has invested into getting good candidates into the MSFE has yielded great results, especially in terms of scholarships. The friends I've made here are definitely for life and we have supported each other a lot.

The program director does a lot to get people jobs by getting us into various corporate sponsored projects. For others this has helped them especially in the interview stage.

The administration/directors of the program are decent at responding to issues. For example, there recently was an issue with international students having to pay extra for OPT that was resolved. I have my old review regarding this issue for posterity on my profile.

One issue, however, is lack of teachers in the business department. This has led to two big issues. One is classes being overlapped with undergraduates. Normally, this wouldn't be the biggest issue, but the derivatives course is going to be at an undergraduate level, so it is less useful for graduate students. The professor has been great and will try to adjust the course just for graduate students but he shouldn't be forced to do that. Two, the program has professors who have influence on the curriculum and keep their outdated courses in it.

Joined the program one year ago and everything is perfectly so far. The program provides various courses for students with specific interest on data , quant or finance.
I joined the program fall 22. It’s been almost a month now. Two things stand out to me from this program so far. Number 1 is the networking opportunities. The program can connect you with people related to your interest pretty quickly and they are very helpful. Number 2 is the projects. They are great opportunities for you to put what you are learning in class to action.
I'm a current student of the MFE program and I must say it's gone beyond all expectations. The tailored approach of the curriculum and active engagement of industry experts on projects gives the practical perspective required. In addition, the program team consistently ensure we get a lot out of updated industry resources and networking events.
Be ready to grasp cutting edge technological skills with rigorous mathematical models delivered by outstanding Professors.

A huge value for your buck!
Lehigh MFE provides a great combination of rigorous coursework and practical real-world experience. You learn the mathematical and computational methods underpinning financial concepts and products, and then you apply them to relevant and state-of-the-art projects that are similar to those that professionals are working on in their respective industries and sectors today.
Lehigh MFE program is really helping me in both academic side and industrial side, I was inspired by the passion that the instructors showed during these years and I really enjoy the atmosphere in Lehigh Community.
I am a current MFE student at Lehigh graduating in May 2023. This program is amazing, the curriculum fused finance, math, and industrial engineering altogether and truly prepares candidates for the future. The program also has 15+ ongoing projects partnering with real companies. Lehigh MFE not only provides a great curriculum but also fantastic resources for job search, networking, and how to present yourself like a quant. As an international student in the competitive job field, I would say the manager, career coach, and all professors have my back and I am well prepared.
I am a current MFE student at Lehigh, set to graduate in the winter of 2021. This program is fantastic, because on top of the curriculum fusing together finance, math, and engineering, there is a clear goal to prepare us for the future. The program includes working on real-life projects by partnering with companies, which prepares us for life after college, and also gives us the opportunity to build our network and potentially earn a job. On top of that, every week we get the opportunity to meet with former students of the program, where we learn about their path to where they are now. There is a clear goal from the administration to help us students not only get a job out of college, but the right job for each of us. I would recommend this program to anyone interested in a quantitative finance profession.
I am a current student in the MFE program graduating in May 2021. Although I have not been in the program for long, I already know that it was a great decision to join the program and pursue a Master's degree in Financial Engineering at Lehigh. Some of the best aspects of the program are the emphasis on real world projects in addition to the many networking opportunities. There is a strong alumni network, and there are weekly calls with alumni as they provide invaluable advice on how to make the most of the program. I definitely feel that there are many opportunities that will help forward my career. In addition, the coursework of the program provides a great blend of math, finance, and engineering classes, and there is a lot of support to develop the technical skills that are in high demand. Overall, I know the program will help me achieve my professional goals, and I highly recommend it to any prospective student.
I am currently in the Lehigh MSFE program and will be graduating in May 2021. This program will give you an extremely diverse skill set as it dives deep into areas of Finance, Math and Engineering. Courtesy of Prof. Zoro, the program also has strong emphasis on networking and project work. Each one of us within the program are able to work with companies and sponsors on a project that has real world applicability which not only helps you improve your technical skills but perfectly mimics a job like environment. I would recommend this prestigious program to any motivated individuals looking to get into the quant industry. The experiences you will have are truly priceless.
