The Master’s in Asset Management program is a STEM-eligible, quantitatively intense nine-month program that was developed by the late David Swensen ’80 PhD, Yale’s former chief investments officer and the pioneer of the “Yale Model” and Tobias Moskowitz, Dean Takahashi ’80 B.A., ’83 M.P.P.M. Professor of Finance and a principal at AQR Capital Management. Focusing on ethical and responsible investing, they designed a unique program dedicated to the merging of academic theory and practice.
Students in this program will receive training in all aspects of asset management, including investment selection, asset allocation, portfolio management, and risk management, with a focus on forward-looking quantitative methods and new technologies in this rapidly changing field.
For anyone interested in finance with exposure to quantitative coursework, or anyone considering applying a computer science or engineering background to the investment industry, the Yale SOM Master’s in Asset Management program can provide a specialized skillset to secure a job in a field where your background will be highly valued.
The Master’s in Asset Management has one admissions cycle, with the Class of 2026 application due date scheduled for early January 2025. The new application will become available this fall. Please check the website for updates.
