  1. Well I'll be - Greece might actually do it...

The issue reminds me of a nursery rhyme :D (slightly modified) ... Greece fell down and broke it's crown, And the world came tumbling after.
  2. Well I'll be - Greece might actually do it...

The concept may be good, but picking every country that happens to be in Europe was not a good idea . They didn't follow the guidelines they themselves set and in the process messed up everything.
  3. 2011-2012 Quantnet Ranking of Financial Engineering (MFE) Programs

Andy any plans of releasing a ranking for Europe programs ?
  4. Well I'll be - Greece might actually do it...

Dont target the "leader". He promised "change" in his campaign and within three years he changed the debt ceiling limit :p Oh and even his stance :D Keeping US aside, I believe the weak economies of Eurozone are actually pulling the stable one's down and at present there are number of weak...
  5. Well I'll be - Greece might actually do it...

More like an earthquake, Europe is the epicenter but the shock waves will travel to far east and across Pacific. Saying this, I too believe that Euro wont collapse, not because of its strength but because we simply wont let it collapse. Countries will keep on infusing more and more into it...
  6. Well I'll be - Greece might actually do it...

another "Too big to fail" case . When Euro zone was formed , I was too young to understand the underlying factors. But later I failed understand the reason of its existence. As most of the states didn't fulfill the "strict criteria" required to remain a member it was destined to fall. Joining...
  7. Well I'll be - Greece might actually do it...

What would be the repercussions on the Euro zone if Greek defaults and moves out: Analysts at UBS recently estimated the cost of leaving the euro for a peripheral member of the euro zone such as Greece could cost between 40 percent to 50 percent of gross domestic product in the first year...
  8. 2011-2012 Quantnet Ranking of Financial Engineering (MFE) Programs

So, apparently only Andy has a conflict of ranking and the others who criticize dont. ;) Moreover, since the methodology is faulty I suggest an improved one which would give a fair chance to every college. take two dice, roll them and rank each college according to the outcome, In this way...
  9. 2011-2012 Quantnet Ranking of Financial Engineering (MFE) Programs

yeah, raw scores would help. Always had very high regards for Haas MFE (thought it would move up this time). I thought Princeton only selected applicants from planets like Krypton and Eternia, still it is number 2. :p
  10. MIT MFin MIT Sloan MFin program extended deadline

Thanks for the info. any idea how many days after the deadline they start sending the interview invites and how many days after the interview one can expect the result.
  11. MIT MFin MIT Sloan MFin program extended deadline

I think the program is aimed at recent undergrad and career changers ( at least what they have posted on their website) probably this is the reason they want one academic reco. Moreover their application form was also very acad focussed (with subjects grades etc).
  12. MIT MFin MIT Sloan MFin program extended deadline

I can think of two possible reasons a. I think they didn't received the number of applications they had expected. They would not want to state that there were fewer applications than last year or that there was no significant increase. b. There are still a lot of incomplete applications and they...
