So I'm applying to math PhDs and specializing in math finance. I was wondering what people would consider the TOP places to do a PhD in mathematical finance would be.

I originally posted my profile on the master thread but no one responded. I was hoping I get evaluations for MFE's. I've also heard of MS/PhD in Stats going quant and doing well. I'd kinda like to do the Stats PhD as I'd get to choose between academia and private sector...
I've seen a few people post that the returns from an MBA will likely greatly outweigh those of an MFE. Why is that? Are there any statistics indicating what the differential is?
Most of the MFE program websites mention a need for a finance industry internship or work experience. If one worked for one of the big 4 accounting/consulting firms in their financial risk division would this satisfy the work experience/internship requirement?
