Come on, seriously? This sounds like it was written by Rush Limbaugh. The average person (in the US, anyway) has used Google or gmail, and appreciates their products. Not to mention they give away most of their services for free. On the other hand, the average person doesn't have an appreciation for abstract concepts like "efficient allocation of capital" or "provision of liquidity". On top of that I can't remember the last time the government had to step in to keep Google from potentially failing. It's not always about jealousy.
