Currently a junior year finance student at a big-10 school, my goal is a to get into a Top17 MFE program and eventually work in NYC or Chicago doing trading or analyst role.

Recently took the GRE and got 323 (166Q,157V), looks like it's about average for applicants. I have plans to retake the test to improve my verbal, which may help my overall score. My GPA is around 3.30, and I have 2 internships on my resume.

I think my main weakness is that I only have undergrad classes in Calc 1&2 (single variate), and stats (sas)...and no CS courses or knowledge. Looks like every program out there wants at least Linear algebrah, probability, and C++ out of their students

I realize getting into a top 10 may be a stretch, but would a 10-17 program take a student if they feel the candidate can finish the pre-reqs before commencing the program?

The question should be the other way around: Do you want to spend tens of thousands of dollars on some second-tier program with dicey employment prospects at the end? And a question a la Groucho Marx, who once remarked he never wanted to join a club that would accept people like him: Do you want to enter a program that will accept the bare minimum of pre-reqs that you will bring? What does that say about the strength and rigor of the program?
