Columbia MSOR Columbia MSOR Admission Results

Thanx Andy. I did see the list of students.....didn't know what the full id would be.

I was only asked one question: interest to MSOR. does this mean I will be declined? looks like they are interviewing most applicants this year. so an interview does not always mean an admission, as last year.

They have a large number of applications this year so please forgive their disorganization. Some people have been interviewed twice because Columbia couldn't keep track of this. So don't panic and just try to enjoy your experience with Columbia.

Offtopic: They should build a better online status system. If you can check your Facebook status on your phone, you should be able to do the same with your application, right?

The whole Columbia's IT infrastructure should be revamped, not just online status system. Their emails portal has slow loading time, their student portal (mycolumbia.edu) has been basically useless because the content is very lacking (I went to UCLA, and my.ucla.edu website has great content, and is important part of student life).... Columbia has a pretty pathetic IT infrastructure for a university of its status.

It's true the same happened with me yesterday! Two questions: Why Columbia? and Are you interested in OR?
I was supposed to be waiting list for FE so I dunno why the hell would they conduct an interview asking whether OR interested!
Anyway, check your online status it might show that you have been declined from FE already.
Best of Luck

Hi folks,

Just wanted to start a thread for anyone that is headed to Columbia MSOR, so maybe we can get to know each other or chat about the program itself before the start of the program.

To start off, just some basic info about me -
Went to a state school through an Air Force scholarship, then commissioned as an officer. Stationed in Texas for 4 years (where I received my MBA using military benefits). Did a tour in Afghanistan (best job I ever had), and then got stationed in Boston. Separated from the military and now going to UMass to work on all the pre-reqs required for MSMF, MSOR, and others. Thinking about going into S/T, Asset Management, or consulting.

Would like to hear about anyone else going to the program.

I read the tracker and found that nearly all admission were given immediately after interview. I was interviewed on 26th, but still pending today. Does this mean a rejection?

According to the Tracker for MSFE and MSOR, its either rejection or waitlist.
I'm just speculating, I don't know if it's true, hope not.

Good luck.

thanks roni, I also noticed the same from the tracker. maybe I should move on now
good luck to others

Is it possible to track the status of the Cornell applications online? Can you give me the link?

I meant some link like embark where I can check the status of my application.. Havnt checked it as yet..

@kunalpatil,
I don't know how your question is related to this thread, but there is no way to check your status online. You will receive an email from Cornell once the final decision is reached.

Hey Andy,

The sole Yes was me, so I guess others are probably still waiting. I wanted to start this thread since class size is relatively large so knowing a few folks going in would be good.

I also interviewed and got in today. I have a BS in Mech E and a minor in Management Science from a top public university in California. Was TA for 2 courses in the engineering department, and a couple of internships with wealth management and investment management firms. Still not too sure about fully committing yet, but I really like the flexibility the program provides. There are so many courses to choose from!
