I got admitted into Columbia University's MAFN, for Fall 2017, in January'17. I would like to connect with future classmates, speacially someone from India as I am yet to find an Indian who as an admit for the same program.

I enrolled in Fall 2016 and there are only two Indians in my cohort.

Can you comment on the remaining diversity of the class? About how many Chinese, Europeans, and Americans? Would you say it is very international Chinese dominated, like >50%?

There's roughly 100 people in the class and about 3 are American (only one full-time), maybe 5 Europeans, 2 Indians, and the rest East Asian (vast majority Chinese). Of the international students, a decent amount (maybe 20%) did their undergrad in America though.

The above numbers are my best guess. They're roughly right but not exact statistics.

Thank you for the info. That is an incredibly high proportion East Asian, like >90%...would you happen to know if Columbia's MFE is also like that? I guess NYU and Baruch would have around 50-60% East Asian as well. These programs, looking at old forum posts, used to have a higher mix of Russian and French students...I wonder where they all went.

Not sure about MFE. And idk, there is only one Russian (American undergrad though) and 2 French in the program as far as I know.
