Hi guys,
I'm from India and boy was I glad to find QuantNet.LOOOVE it...:-)

So my problem is fairly unique and ill try to keep it brief.I did my B.E Mechanical and joined GE as a Patent Analyst in Gas turbine field. However I was inspired by a Merger & Acquisition (that I obviously dint work on) to understand how companies are valuated.I went thro some online courses in finance:Introduction to finance(from coursera) and loved it.I decided that I have to pursue finance as a career as I could relate to it.

Now what do I do next?I HAVE TO APPLY FOR SPRING!!! As my boss found out I want to pursue higher studies. Ill have to quit my job in a month or two. Should I apply to MFE/MS in Finance in spring??.I noticed not many univs have spring admits. What coll do you think I should target? Is it better to probably apply for Industrial Engineering with a focus on Finance/OR..??What exactly would be my job profile/role after this?

P.S:I have a GRE score of 318 and a Toefl score of 114/120.
Pls someone Pls guide me.I am desperate as I cant apply for next fall as its more than a year away. I know im asking too much but any info could help.

thanks Michael..do you think ill be @ a disadvantage if I go in spring??any idea about the differences between spring and fall??

There are fewer programs that offer admission in the spring so you would have a lower probability getting accepted given the smaller sample size.
