CQF before applying to MFE?

Planning to do a CQF to strengthen my application as I do not come from a finance background. Will it help in my application? CQF claims to be an alternate Masters to MFE but I'm using it as a gateway to get into a good program, or maybe get some work ex prior to that. CQF is about $7500 for me in my country. Also considered World Quant but it's too lengthy (2 years)
