Hey guys,

I have a semester's time left at college. Should I use these time to pass the first five actuarial exams?(I have three now, and I enjoy the third one, the one about pricing derivatives, in particular ) Or is there anything else you guys recommend to do?

Thanks

Actuary is very different from Quant Finance, although they share some basic background such as probability, maths... I would think that taking exam P won't hurt but the rest are just not so relevant. Taking CFA exams seems more beneficial for admission

Actually, actuarial exams provide a support that you can be analytical in decision making.
These exams help in this area only.
If you are already analytical from other supporting factors, concentrate on something else!

No, it will not.
If you don't know how to program, spend a semester taking C++ and get some relevant project under your belt.

Thank you guys. I do have the plan to take CFA level one. And I have some experience with C++ programming.
What other things will be beneficial for admission?
