Hi Everyone,
I recently posted a query regarding my profile evaluation and got feedback from @Andy Nguyen which I highly appreciate. Based on the feedback I've changed my plans and will be applying for 2027 Fall in Baruch MFe with the below mentioned strategy.
I’m planning to apply for the Baruch MFE program for Fall 2027 and would love to get your feedback on my preparation strategy and overall profile. I’ve gone through the QuantNet forum and know how competitive the program is, so I’m structuring my next two years with focused, quant-heavy preparation.
My Background
BS in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from Birla Institute of Technology (my GPA is relatively low ~ 3.2GPA all due to the first two semesters were poor however moving forward I've improved my studies and I've published a research paper in IEEE Power Electronics.
Post my graduation I am working as an Industrial Engineer for a consumer electronics manufacturing company. I am actively working in field of industrial automation, I've hands on experience with MATLAB, AutoCAD, SiemensNX and Avix software.
1. Baruch Pre-MFE Seminars: I’m planning to take the following seminars.
2. Credit Eligible courses from IITs in
Probability (3 credits)
Mathematics for Financial Engineering I (3 credits)
Mathematics for Financial Engineering II (3 credits)
Linear Algebra ( 3 credits)
3. Independent project :
Time Series Forecasting for Trading
Key Deliverables:
The goal is to officially apply for Baruch’s MFE program in November 2026, for the Fall 2027 semester.
Does this roadmap realistically position me for Baruch MFE 2027?
Thank you for taking the time to read! Looking forward to hearing from people who’ve navigated the Baruch MFE journey
Thanks and Regards,
Varun
