Hi all,
I came across a GRE question that threw me off a bit. It was a quantitative comparison question asking to compare a given value versus the value corresponding to the xth percentile. I marked the answer as not enough information to compare since it wasn't specified that the values followed a normal distribution. If we could assume a normal distribution, a comparison was possible using other provided information.
Just wondering if others have come across a similar problem and whether we should be assuming a normal distribution.
