Actuaries work in insurance companies and consulting firms. Quants work in hedge funds, prop firms or IBanks. Quants are very good at math and CS.
Actuaries have intensive math trainings too. Actuaries work fewer hours.
Probably less pay, not very sure about this.
Any more thoughts about these two profession?

To be clearer, I have an offer of an actuarial position. I need to decide whether I should stay in college for one more year and go for an MFE program or take the offer.

Actuaries (especially new hires) who work in consulting firms do not work fewer hours. Insurance companies, maybe.
