Hi fellow applicants and hopefully at some point fellow quants,

I come from a third-world country with a very high rate of US visa rejection. Many full-ride scholarship receivers among my acquaintances got rejected, I am afraid of such a fate myself. Since I could get admitted to UK programs with much higher chances of actually starting my master's and I won't be able to choose when to accept offers if I get any, is it even worth applying to US programs, considering a high risk of visa rejection?

For context:
UK Visa refusal rate at around 2%
US Visa refusal rate at around 35%
