Hey everyone,
I'm currently preparing my application for the MFE program, and I'm looking into various mathematics courses to strengthen my background in mathematics. One course I came across is the Mathematics for Quantitative Finance course provided by the University of York.
Has anyone here taken this course before? If so, I would love to hear your thoughts on it.
Additionally, for those who have been through a similar path, do you think it’s worth taking this specific course, or would you suggest other options that might better prepare me for an MFE program?

Thanks in advance for any insights you can provide!

If you are applying to York MSc Mathematical Finance (online), this is a low cost course to meet their entry requirement.
It's not clear to me if taking this will meet the requirements for their traditional, in person MSc course which may have harder requirements.
The topics covered seem basic and the bar to complete the course is low.

If you are planning to apply to better programs in the US or UK, you may want to look into Baruch pre-MFE courses which has individual courses for Calculus, Probability, Numerical Linear Algebra, etc. They are a bit more expensive but many members here have taken them and can share their experience.

Just wondering whether the Baruch pre-MFE courses are only held once a year or is there multiple time slots in a year where students can get to enroll in ?

They offer those courses twice a year, in the Fall and Spring semester.
