I am interested in applying to a Masters in Financial Engineering program, but I have a low undergraduate GPA (below 2.5). What are some options for enrolling in a Masters in FE program in terms of universities that do not have strict GPA requirements? Are such programs worthwhile in terms of job placement?

No, it's not worth the hassle really.
At this point the MFE is really like a MBA except that there are less jobs out there.
if your GPA is low, don't try to squeeze yourself into a degree that would specialize you too much without giving you real job opportunities.

I would suggest you to apply for internships or full time opportunities first and leverage work experience and recommendations. 2.5 is very low so you will need exceptional qualifications in all other areas. If you have time, you can try taking pre-requisite courses tailored for MFE students.

Why should an MFE program take you over someone with a more solid GPA? If you can answer that question, then maybe there is hope.
