A top ten school in India is good, but your references will probably need to be stronger than they would from a very strong IIT to get into a top-five financial mathematics program.  The professors will either have to say that they have supervised graduates of the programs you are applying to and that you are equal in quantitative ability, or they will have to say something to the effect of putting you in the top 1% of students they have supervised.
