I am currently an Industrial Engineering senior and am looking to turn my ambitions toward the finance arena. I have been admitted into two top 5 finance programs thus far and I'd like to get some input regarding my upcoming decision.

I have been admitted to The University of Rochester's MSF program and Washington University's MSFQ (quant) program. This has really been a hard decision and I believe it is because I am unsure of the placement opportunities that exist after graduation. Given my engineering background, I think I would be well suited to go the quant route at WashU and pursue broker-dealer services for more complex securities or even HFT (hell, I could do the latter out of my garage). If I choose this route, I understand I might make less out of the gate but positioning myself near or on the buy-side of banking will help poise my salary for greater growth around the mid career marker. Alternatively, Rochester's MSF program is very prominent as well and would allow me to break into investment banking (possibly in NYC). Rochester has given me a large scholarship and WashU has not so that is also considered.

Now I need advice on what I can do from here, not about what I can't do. Also, if anyone can throw out some additional considerations regarding my two choices, it would be appreciated. This is one of those decisions I will heavily outsource until I have heard everything about both schools, good and bad. Thanks.
