i have stat background and been in retail banking for a while.
i can play SAS and R like toys and know python reasonably well.
if i want to get into investment banking, I am wondering if I have to learn C++, which is new to me.
any insight would be greatly appreciated.
Investment banking is this giant building that every floor and room does something different from another. You need to know the floor and room number for people to give you direction there.
Dear Andy,
thank you so much for your insight!
to be honestly, I really have no idea which direction I should be heading.
the only IB experience I have so far was an interview with Gyan's team in bears back in 2007. I was lucky enough to get an offer but didn't take it.
I have no PHD degree and don't know C++. However, I am very good at statistical computing and willing to learn anything new that is necessary to get into the door of IB.
