COMPARE NYU Tandon School of Engineering MSFE vs University of Washington CFRM

I've been accepted to both and I'm finding it hard to decide between the two.
Both seem similar in terms of the courses you can take.

What are the employment outlooks for both of these programs?

Neither place posts immediate employment statistics so I would like to know if anyone has graduated from these programs and had trouble finding a job.

In NYU you will have the advantage to be in NYC which implies more networking and more career opportunities. Plus, NYU is very respected in the city as a university.

Agreed. I graduated from the UW MS program and it's a great program, but if your goal is to work in NY, I would think the choice is pretty clear.

I have no location preferences what so ever in terms of job placement after graduating. It's NYU poly though... I have read more negative reviews than positive.

I heard they changed director and that the whole program is reforming. In any case, big factor of your decision should be the location.

Peter Carr is the new director at NYU MFE, that will improve things there. New York location is much better than Seattle.

Hi all,

Please help me out here. NYU Tandon (Poly) is better in terms of ranking, but I have read many negative comments on the program. However, NYC is a good location for opportunities. On the other hand, UW CFRM has better placement, good comments and a relatively lower cost of attendance, but not as good location for quant jobs. I have till Feb 28 to make my deposit for NYU.

I would go NYU on the fact that tandon is trending upward and the cfrm program is trending downwards.
