Hi everyone,
I was admitted to both program though my ideal school is CMU MSCF from which I got rejection.
Here are the options for me:
1. Get a CSE master degree in one year and reapply to CMU
2. Go to Rutgers MSMF
I will be graduating with BS in mathematics this summer. I had plenty experience in programming and statistical technique/modeling (2papers published), through interned/part-time at a computing research lab.
I thought the reason I got rejected from CMU MSCF is lack of working experience in finance industry.
For option 1, I feel building strong programming skills and knowledge of parallel programming will be very helpful when finding a quantitative job in finance field.
But taking some computer courses at Rutgers is also a option.
So I might doubt spending another year at obtaining a CS master degree and reapply to the CMU program worth the investment? And still there's uncertainty I will be rejected again.
Thanks for your advise.
