Hello, All
I am considering applying for 2014 or 2015 MFE program and I do not have previous finance background. Please kindly evaluate my profile and give me some idea on which school should I apply to. Also any advice on improving my profile will be greatly appreciated! Thanks a lot in advance!
Education & Test Score:
B.S.E Naval Arc & Marine Engineering, University of Michigan, GPA 3.8/4.0, graduated 2010
M.S.E Electrical Engineering: Systems, University of Michigan, GPA 3.9/4.0, graduated 2012
GMAT: Q 51 + V 39 = 730, AWA 6.0
Experience:
Lots of research experience in control theory, published one conference paper (first author).
Internship at General motors as software engineer.
Currently works as Cummins (Engine manufacture company) as software engineer, job started June, 2012.
Finance background
Very little, took Macroeconomics during undergraduate study.
Skills
Since my background is in control theory, thus I believe that my mathematical background should be okay. Been using a lot of MATLAB and Simulink in the college and is very proficient at it. Have been using C language since working.
Leaded couple of software development projects at the current company and have finished them in a very pressing deadline with good quality. Leaded one six sigma project.
Other Questions
Is there any quick way to boost my background in finance?
Thank you very much for your help!!
