I want to pursue Financial Engineering Program in universities which are nearby New York & New Jersey.

GRE: 324 (Q-168 V-156)
TOEFL: 110
GPA: 2.90
Currently pursuing 5 Yr Dual Degree Program in India in which on completion will receive B.Tech in Information Technology and MBA in Technology Management (Majors - Finance).

Have done 4 internships and out of which one I have done in Treasury Risk Department in one of the leading banks in India. One I have done in MNC in Financial Risk Management Department. Other internships are related to my technical background.

I have selected few universities

1. Baruch CUNY
2. Stevens Institute of Technology
3. Rutgers New Jersey
4. Columbia University
5. Cornell University
6. Fordham University
7. NYU Poly
8. Princeton University

What are the chances of getting in these universities? My main issue is extremely low GPA due to which I am not sure where to apply.

I think you will get problems with that GPA. You need to write an exceptional application to be considered imo.

@mhy @Kann Thans for your replies.
Boston University, UC Berkeley, UCLA , Georgia Tech, Temple University , Claremont Graduate University these are the other universities I am considering. I am planning to apply in 8 Universities. Can someone suggest me 2 ambitious, 3 moderate and 3 safe universities.

Very ambitious: Princeton and Columbia
moderate: Baruch, UW, and Rutgers
Safe: Stevens, IIT, and Fordham

@evan guggenheim Thank You. Are you sure Fordham would be safe and Baruch would be moderate as I though both will be ambitious.
Also, how is career services at IIT Chicago and at UW as they haven't mentioned anything on their website.

Baruch pretty tough to get into, and I would say Fordham is in-between. I guess its all relative to your stats, but generally speaking, the Ivy Us are far more ambitious than Baruch and especially Fordham. From what I know, IIT's career services are nonexistent and UW is pretty good. I actually have UW as one of my top picks, its seems like a very good all around program (from my perspective).
