Hello!
I am looking to pursue an MSFE / MFin from a top-ranked US/UK school, applying for Fall'25.
About Me
I have completed my UG/PG in Physics from an IIT (Tier-1 in India), with a CGPA of 8.4/10. I also have a published and a conference paper hovering around computational physics and machine learning respectively. I additionally have 4+ years of work experience in one of the largest financial services companies in the world, working as an analyst covering Asia and US macroeconomics, with deep time-series modelling and research experience. More recently I'm also working on a research paper with the World Bank.
I have a 705 in GMAT FE, with a Q88 in Quant (95%ile). Academically I have average grades in subjects around Math, but I do have significant programming / data-science experience to talk about from my work.
In terms of post-MS goals, I ultimately aim to be in an analyst role at a Macro Focused Hedge Fund, but am open to other relevant roles too. My current company would also be open to hiring me back.
I've already applied at LBS (MiF), and waiting to hear back from them. Additionally thinking of applying at -
MIT, CMU, Columbia, Cornell, and possibly UCB for spring '26.
Would really appreciate feedback on what's a realistic chance, and should I look at adding more programs such as: NYU (Math. Finance), Boston, Georgia Tech etc.
Really appreciate your time and thanks in advance!
