Quant Career for non-MFE program student

Hi all,

I need advice on my career direction.
I am a master student major in computer engineering(focusing on machine learning), and I also have financial background(bachelor major in Finance and Banking). I am confident of my skills in programming(C,C++,matlab,lua), math and statistics. Is Quant a considerable career direction for student like me? What other skills are preferred for a Quant candidate?
