First of all you should of course try.
But as to "door openers", do not overhope and overestimate it.
First of all your [a-priori] chances to win tend to zero.
But even if you win, what does actually "win" mean in this context?
To get the largest terminal wealth? Well, in a game (when you don't risk real money) it is then optimal to make a highly leveraged portfolio. But it is usually not what they demand from a portfolio manager in real life.
More realistic and more complicated is scoring on wikifolio (they consider performance, maximum drawdown, diversification and many other criteria).
I also have a wikifolio
Somewhat better than DUCKS (ISIN: DE000LS9HDK3)
and I also hope it will be my "door opener" (not necessarily to portfolio management, in context of my CV becoming a front office risk manager is more likely).
However, I understand (and you should too) that one need several years of a track record in order to prove that his/her performance was not just a luck.
