Hello,

I have worked in IT for ~8 yrs in Sydney, Australia. I am currently an IT Project Manager.

Recently completed an MBA.

I am planning on doing the FRM certification in Nov 2011.

I really enjoy Project Management, and want to continue working as an IT Project Manager.

My question is do you believe the FRM certification will serve me well in IT Project Management ROLES for IB and Banks?

Honestly, the FRM is a hobby of mine after tasting "Finance" during MBA studies.
I work as an IT PM for a 'high-tech' services company. Never worked or applied for a job in Finance.
I have noticed that IT PM roles at say Bank A, Sydney, all say (previous financial services experience mandatory).
Question was, would they be willing to overlook that “lack of financial experience” being armed with a FRM when I do apply for an IT PM role at Bank B?
